HAPPY NEW YEAR – 2022 (31-Dec-2021)
Wishing you a very
happy new year 2022!
Wishing all of us virus-free
days in the near future, but then specifically to you let health-wealth-happiness
be bestowed in abundance by the Lord
Wishing all of us
success and merriment, but then specifically to you let the joy of a win in
everything that you set forth be a blessing by the Lord
Wishing all of us
enhanced bonding and friendship, but then specifically to you let our bridge
stay strong as an offering to the Lord
Wishing all of us
travel into the places we love, but then specifically to you to be able to
travel to your family and friends as a gratitude to the Lord
Wishing all of us
peace and prosperity, but then specifically to you let the inner peace and tranquillity
be the light shone by the Lord
Almost there, ready
to step into a new year it mandates us to shine a little but bright light on
the days ahead into the future. Just so
that it augurs well, it is imperative to erase the dark days which has thrust
us into a pandemic situation for almost two years and the ensuing implications. However, a new variant and unprecedented infection
numbers around the world in several countries does not provide us the clarity
now. Do we want to continue to rot in ‘status
quo?’
I am not speaking
Greek and Latin here. It appears that
Greek and Latin were at loggerheads, always!
Status Quo is a Latin phrase and essentially means ‘Current Situation.’ While the Greek philosopher Heraclitus remarked:
Change is the only constant! We the
human beings always love status quo since it is a safety net where we can hide
forever. We resist change…period.
If we go by the
Latin phrase, the punishment phase with the lurking danger of new variants of
virus will further unsettle us. If we go
by the Greek thoughts, we know that the dark clouds will pass. Now to which side do we show our allegiance?
We are the selfish
human beings who belong to the Homo Sapiens species. Here again, it is derived from a Latin word, Homo
being 'human' or 'man' and Sapiens meaning 'wise' or 'astute.' It means ‘wise human,’ but are we really? For the first time, we the ‘wise humans’ for a
change will not resist or desist change; instead, we are ready to embrace change
with open hands. We want change for a
better tomorrow, sans the virus. We want
vaccines giving us the necessary impetus and boost to move ahead,
fearless. We want a new drug that can cure
us of this disease.
We want to be able
to fly with a wide wingspan high up in the air, not stutter with our wings clipped.
We want to fly with gay abandon beyond the
farthest mountains, and dive with firm resolve into the deepest oceans.
With that in mind,
let us march ahead with our heads held high with a renewed hope that there are
better days in the offing.
Happy New Year
once again to you and your loved ones!
